IMPORTANT SAFARI UPDATES!

Race day is fast approaching…

Parking for the Texas Water Safari will be limited at the check-in site this year due to the ongoing construction at the site and the record number of participants.

UPDATE 6/4: Please click here to read the parking update from Robert Youens who is coordinating parking at check-in.

Plan to come early for check-in since traffic entering the site may become congested. Participants, their crews and spectators will be required to park across the road in the Texas State University football stadium parking lot. TWS is arranging for a shuttle service to ferry people back and forth and there will be a turnaround at the Texas Rivers Center for racers to drop off gear and boats. The boat drop off area is NOT for parking.

Race check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.

If you have not yet registered your SPOT tracker, NOW is the time to do so.

You must have your SPOT registered and verified BEFORE you arrive for check-in on Friday, June 8th. You can do that via the TWS website: https://www.texaswatersafari.org/spot-tracker-registration/

Email texaswatersafari@yahoo.com if you have any difficulty with the process.

Please RSVP for the banquet NOW.

Texas Water Safari race check-in is Friday, June 8th, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The combined race briefing and banquet will follow from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Racers and team captains are required to attend the briefing and will eat for free. Guests or family members must have a ticket: the cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Please RSVP for guests and family members on the website so TWS can get an accurate head count of people attending. There will be a limited number of banquet tickets available for purchase (cash or check only) at check-in.

Life jackets (PFDs) are required to be carried in the boat during the race and worn while crossing the bay.

All life jackets must be U.S. Coast Guard approved. This approval must be stamped/printed on the jackets. Jackets will be checked at race check-in on Friday, June 8th.

See you for the 50th TWS!
